Ask a lecture deck what it actually said. Every slide read, slide numbers kept.
Upload a .pptx file and CarrelAI reads the whole deck — every slide, in order — then answers questions out of it. Slide decks are the worst-behaved study material there is: the argument lives in three bullet points and whatever was said out loud, and the same phrase appears on slides 4, 19 and 62. Being able to ask the deck directly is the difference between finding that and scrolling for it.

Notes and boards against a deck, on every plan
A deck is not a document, and it is read as what it is
A lecture deck compresses badly. Its content is fragments — a heading, three bullets, a chart with no caption — and the connective tissue was spoken. Read linearly it is close to meaningless, which is why searching a deck for a keyword tends to produce six slides that all mention the word and none that explain it.
CarrelAI reads the deck end to end on upload and indexes it by meaning rather than by slide boundary, so a topic developed across four consecutive slides is retrieved as one thing. Ask about a concept and the answer is assembled from wherever in the deck it was actually built up, with the slides it came from named.
Photographed and scanned slides included
A good proportion of lecture material arrives as images — a deck exported to PDF as pictures, a photograph of a slide taken because it was not shared, a scanned handout. On the Study and Pro plans those pages are transcribed automatically during the same read, so a photographed slide is searchable and answerable like any other.
The deck open beside the canvas
The reason to do this in a workspace rather than a chat box is what you do next. The slide stays open while you redraw its diagram on a canvas beside it, write a sticky note in your own words, or turn "read the chapter this is from" into a task with a due date and the deck's name on it.
Everything you have uploaded can also be asked at once, which is the query that matters at the end of a term: put the term's decks in a folder and ask across all of them, and the answer comes back saying which lecture it was in.
- PDF, .docx and .pptx in one workspace, asked together
- A folder tree by term, module or week — however you already think
- One search over every folder, document, note and task you own
- Answers highlight straight into notes or tasks
Questions people ask before they sign up.
What PowerPoint formats are supported?
Modern .pptx files render and are read in full. Decks exported to PDF work too, and on the Study and Pro plans slides that are images rather than text are transcribed automatically.
Can I ask across a whole term of lectures at once?
Yes. Put the decks in a folder and point the chat at everything you have uploaded rather than at one file. The answer comes back naming which deck it found it in.
How many decks can I upload?
Three documents on the free plan, 50 on Study and 300 on Pro — of up to 150, 3,000 and 20,000 pages respectively.

Chat with PDF
Upload a PDF and ask it anything. Every answer is searched out of your own pages before it is written, so it can show you where it read it.
For students
Reader, drawing canvas, notes, planner and an AI that has read your material, around one file. Free to start, no card required.
PDF annotator
Annotate a PDF in the browser: highlight passages and write against them, keep sticky notes beside the page, and draw on a canvas next to it.
Upload one file and see whether it read it properly.
That is the only question worth answering before paying for anything, and the free plan exists to answer it. No card.
